The Short Version
Your recordings never leave your device. Flipwave processes all audio locally in your browser. We don't collect, transmit, or have access to your recordings or personal data.
What Data We Collect
None. Flipwave is designed with privacy at its core:
- We don't collect personal information
- We don't use cookies or tracking
- We don't have analytics
- We don't create user accounts
- We don't store anything on our servers
How Your Audio Is Handled
When you record audio with Flipwave:
- Recording — Audio is captured directly by your browser using your device's microphone
- Processing — The audio is reversed entirely within your browser using the Web Audio API
- Storage — If you choose to save a recording, it's stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device only
- Download — Downloaded files are saved directly to your device
At no point does your audio data leave your device or pass through our servers.
Microphone Access
Flipwave requires access to your device's microphone to record audio. This permission is requested by your browser and you can grant or deny it at any time. We only access the microphone when you actively press the record button.
You can revoke microphone access at any time through your browser's settings.
Local Storage
Flipwave uses your browser's IndexedDB to store saved recordings locally on your device. This data:
- Remains entirely on your device
- Is not accessible to us or any third party
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser data
- May be lost if you clear your browser data or use private/incognito mode
Third-Party Services
Flipwave is hosted on Netlify. While we don't collect any data, Netlify may collect basic server logs (like IP addresses) as part of standard web hosting. Please refer to Netlify's Privacy Policy for details.
Children's Privacy
Flipwave does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all data stays on your device, there's no risk of children's data being collected or shared.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
